Pageant of The Masters and Starting Silo Season 3

My wife and I went to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. It was the first time that I have seen it even though I have lived in south Orange County for the majority of my life. I always passed by it, as I have gone to Laguna Beach many times for work, hiking, dining or other reasons. I was able to get in as my wife’s plus one, whose employer offered the tickets. Finding parking on a summer Friday night in Laguna Beach is difficult, and we didn’t get a chance to walk through the art galleries. We got some good seats to the Pageant itself, and I really didn’t know what to expect. It was a showcase of some of the greatest artists in history from Da Vinci to Van Gogh, older to modern. There was a live orchestra under the stage whose music seemingly blended into the show. They showed different pieces of these great artists, but the catch is that some of the people in the paintings that we were looking at were actually real people. Within the show, they explained how they made this feat possible, but it is incredible to see real people staying still for so long while looking like the characters in these paintings. They used the environment as well, even using a hillside next to the stage. It was a combination of hearing a live orchestra, history lesson, and art exhibit. Thankfully, I actually learned about a good number of these artists starting from elementary school up until college.

My wife and I also started to watch the third season of the television series, Silo. We decided to wait until the season was over to re-subscribe to AppleTV so that we could marathon through the season. Thankfully, there was a recap to get us reconnected to the characters and events that happened. With the way that season two ended, I was under the impression that there would have full episodes dedicated to the past, but that was not the case. It is interesting that they had the main character, Juliette Nichols, have memory loss while also being the new mayor of the silo. I would have thought coming in that she would tell the residents of the silo about what she saw outside and the other silos, but her having memory loss bypasses that. I would guess that she eventually regains her memories in the future, later episodes of the season, but we will see. There is also a concerted effort to make her totally forget what she saw, which adds a strong air of mystery, and mystery is a big appeal of the series. With the season having just ended, hopefully, we can finish it soon.
