Website Stuff

The website’s almost done, and that’s pretty cool. I’m going to have to go all-out in advertising it with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and whatnot. I used to work as a realtor assistant, and one thing that I was told by a realtor is that the more you put into real estate, the more that you get back. I’m taking that philosophy with this website, and just trying to be a published author.

I really need to buckle down with The Underachievers short story. It’s due in just a couple days for the short story contest that I’m going to submit it to. I’m using people I know as my inspiration, and it’s just a matter of putting their characters’ personalities into words. I found that just talking about it really helps.

I’m always thinking about the next project, whether it’s a short story or a novel. Maybe I can extend some of my short stories into novels, and I can think of one that that would be possible for. 

Writer's Talk and Other Stuff

I just made the first Writers Talk video. It was fun. I have an MMA predictions and analysis show on Youtube, so it wasn’t anything new to do these Youtube videos. I’ll try to keep doing them every week.

I’m writing a short story called The Underachievers. I have, and have had, friends who were the type who did enough to get by, but didn’t do enough to get ahead. It’s almost a form of venting to write a story about underachievers, as the ones I know were just so illogical and ignorant at times. I wanted humor in the story, but not forced, so the absurdity in what they do and say is comedy in its own.

I really have to get query letters out there. I’ve been holding off with putting this website up, but now is the time to reach out to literary agents. I actually have some stuff to show for myself like an author’s website, won 3rd place in a short story contest, and got two other short stories published in an online magazine. I guess that it’s better than nothing.

My story

This is the first blog to my new website, and I’m excited but apprehensive as well. I’m Christopher Muldong, and I’m an aspiring author. I’ll be documenting my journey of being an author through this blog and from videos as well.

I like the fantasy genre the most. It’s fun and limitless. I’ve always been into RPG video games as a kid, and still like them now. There’s something about quests and adventures that are fun to me. The Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia have always been favorites of mine. It’s kind of full circle that I now am trying to write my own adventures.

I hope that people like my stories. Writing’s now such a big part of my life that I do every day. I’m always trying to learn and get practice, so that’s why I participate in many short story contests. It’s all a learning process to me.
